What charitable giving efforts is your company involved in?

We're dedicated to supporting programs that make a big difference in crucial areas of society. As a corporation, we focus on Engaging Youth, Safe Driving and Ending Domestic Violence.

Engaging Youth: We believe Good Starts Young and by supporting and inspiring the next generation of leaders, we help them create the kind of future we can all get behind.

Safe Driving: Raising awareness and educating drivers helps keep everyone safe on the road. Avoiding accidents is good for everyone. That’s why we help teens, motorcyclists and the whole community stay safe on the road.

Ending Domestic Violence: We empower victims to escape abusive relationships through financial education. Communities only thrive when the people in them are safe. That’s why we’re committed to ending domestic violence and financial abuse.

In partnership with The Allstate Foundation, the regional office has coordinated annual grants for two non-profit organizations in Michigan that align with our corporate giving initiatives above.

Since 2006, when we started partnering with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, we have donated more than $600,000. We’ve partnered with Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan since 2004 and have donated over $1 million.

So far in 2019, in neighborhoods across Michigan, agency owners have volunteered over 2,800 hours to various organizations throughout the state, earning $500 grants for each organization. Some of the organizations Allstate agency owners support include: Kids Food Basket (Grand Rapids), Open Door Outreach Center (Waterford), Always Hope Animal Rescue (Howell), City of Riverview Fire Department, Kiwanis Foundation Of South Lyon, Scarlet’s Smile (Commerce Township), and many more!

What Michigan landmark best represents your company?

Hitsville U.S.A, Home to the Motown Museum.

Like the talented musicians that made their start at Motown Records, Allstate agents are rock stars!

As an irresistible force of social and cultural change, Berry Gordy’s legendary Motown Records made its mark not just on the music industry, but society at large, with a sound that marks one of the most significant musical accomplishments and stunning success stories since its establishment in 1959. Similarly, Allstate has been serving customers for over 85 years, a testament to the charisma, talent, innovation and caring spirit of our employees and agency owners. We believe companies have the power to address critical social problems and bring people together. That’s why we joined The CEO Initiative, a program that brings together top CEOs of enlightened companies to exchange ideas and develop solutions that can change the world.

Is there anything else you would like lawmakers, staff or other thought leaders to know about your company?

Our customers are our top priority, so we go the extra mile to help them stay informed and protect the people and things they care about most.

We help stranded drivers whenever, wherever. A flat tire or dead battery can derail travel plans and impact safety. That’s why we created Good Hands Rescue, an app that provides pay-per-use, on-demand roadside assistance for anyone who needs it.

We offer more ways to save. Our discounts aren’t limited to insurance rates. My Offers features savings on a wide range of products and services, from car seats to house cleanings. It’s just one more way we help people save on moments big and small.

We give one serious guarantee. We settle millions of claims each year. To help ensure our customers have a good auto claim experience, we provide the Claim Satisfaction Guarantee. We’ll credit a customer’s premium up to six months if they’re unhappy with their auto claim experience.

We give customers the know-how they need. We created the Allstate Blog to help customers enjoy and accomplish more in their daily lives. Each post is packed with info they can use, like how to spot hail damage or find a great vacation destination.
